Artwork Guidelines

Please ensure Artwork is supplied in PDF format (Adobe Acrobat), TIFF or a JPEG

Poster Pigeon specialise in producing big beautiful posters created in loads of different programs, (PC or Apple) including:

File types

PDF (Ideal)
JPEG / JPG
TIFF

 

These tools can produce artwork in PDF, TIFF or JPEG format:

Adobe Illustrator
Photoshop
Freehand
Microsoft Publisher
InDesign
Microsoft Office (Word, Power point etc)
Corel Draw / Corel Paint

 

All artwork is checked for suitability before we print your poster. Please convert your artwork to PDF, TIFF or JPEG before uploading.

 

Please supply your artwork in PDF format (Adobe Acrobat), as a TIFF a or as a JPEG file (Only). 

Here are some questions to ask yourself before submitting an order:

Your poster picture:  We need some artwork to help us print your poster:  You upload a file when you complete your purchase in our shopping cart.   You can create your artwork in any program you want, including Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, or Publisher, Illustrator, Photoshop, Coreldraw, PhotoPaint:  

Artwork needs to be PDF format (Adobe Acrobat), TIFF or a JPEG . 

When it comes to creating artwork for your poster, you have a number of options. Dont worry, it neednt cost you a penny!

OK, I have my poster created, what now?

You now need to convert your poster into PDF format (Acrobat) This is as easy as printing a document from your chosen application, and is COMPLETELY FREE TO DO.

How you do this will depend on the application you have used:

Microsoft Word or Microsoft Power point 2007 only

You can create posters in any version of Microsoft Word. Simply type your text, and if you choose, add graphics as appropriate.Note that you can also create posters in Microsoft Powerpoint, as well as number of other graphics programs (Adobe inDesign, Quark Xpress, Serif Poster Designer)You can create PDFs of documents directly from these applications by Clicking the save Icon and then Choosing PDF from the "Save as type" drop down menu, in the "Save As" Dialogue box.

Other versions of Microsoft Word or Microsoft Power point PRIOR to 2007

I dont have any of those applications, what else can I use?

If you dont have Microsoft Word. You can download OpenOffice, which is a FREE implmentation of Microsoft Office. It includes a word processor, very similar to Microsoft Word in terms of operation and functionality. You can download OpenOffice from here

There is a button in the toolbar which will create a PDF of your document. (screenshot)

Some other application

Download and install cutePDF, which will allow you to create PDFs from any Windows application, FOR FREE!

This installs a PDF printer driver on your PC which means you can Select File->Print in your chosen application, Choose CutePDF, and click print. You will be asked to type in a filename to save the PDF to.
